Chi: bad ass song here. very creative as they use some sort of

feedback effect on their guitars in the verse and bridge. The tab book

calls it microphonic feedback arranged for as harmonics. It doesnt

sound perfect probably cause i don't have the right effects but its

the closest ive heard, you just have to practice hitting the harmonics

right especially in the bridge. You need two guitars with just plain

old distortion and preferably single coil pickups

interlude-drums and bass here, let the strings ring and just let your

guitar hang, and if you have the single coil pickups and a big enough

amp you should get the fuzzy sound.

Bridge: one of the coolest riffs ive heard from korn. this riff sounds

like munky and head are slicing their strings up with kitchen knives.

HEAVY distortion

part 1 the first chord and the harmonic in each loop come AFTER

jonathan screams, not right on top of it. remember that or you'll

screw up the beat. and the harmonics: the trick is to get your finger

off the string as fast as you can, or else the harmonic wont ring.

Lost: bad-ass extremely underrated song. come to think of it every song

on Life is Peachy has never gotten its due except for A.D.I.D.A.S. the

tab book was so jacked it tabbed the chorus as only having 1 gtr part.

you need a swell effect or a guitar with a volume knob really close

to the strings, a chorus & phaser effects, distortion, and of course 2

geetars

Intro: 4 evenly spaced fade-ins, clean with chorus effect.

C-0- (4 bars)

Chorus:

D-5/4-4-4/3-3-5/4-4/3---

A-3/2-2-2/1-1-3/2-2/1---

i always use upward slashes even when the slide is downward cause some

thing always keeps the downward slashes from appearing when the tab is

posted. just thought i'd let you know its stupid i know but oh well.

Gtr 2 (w/ a phaser, palm mute throughout) You have to play this FAST.

G-5--5-4--4-3--5-4-3-3-4^- repeat however many times

D-5--5-4--4-3--5-4-3-3----

A-3--3-2--2-1--3-2-1-1----

Verse: same as the intro only with distortion. the fade-ins are spaced

unevenly, and they last for varying amounts of time, plus the guitars

pan (fade from left to right) a lot so it would be a pain to tab out.

just listen to the song though and its easy.

PreBridge: guitar 1 only: (use up strokes and down stokes + down ^ up)

remember up means towards you.

now both guitars play this:

Low *

A-2-3--3--3-2-3--3--3-3-2-

* right here every other time gtr 2 plays open 7th string and goes

up to the 19th fret high D and whacks it a little and then continues

song continues with a verse & another chorus then you have the outro

which is a variation of the chorus; both guitars play this:

Low

D-5/4-4-4/3-3-5/4-4/3-4- repeat however many times

A-3/2-2-2/1-1-3/2-2/1-2-

Swallow: yes another underated song. No one gets it right; the chorus

is single notes not power chords and its not the same as the intro...

and i could go on forever. you need a chorus effect, a pitch effect

with an expression pedal, reverb and... thats it... well distortion

Intro: clean! get ready to give your weak pinky finger a workout here.

gtr1 only: **

G-4-------4---------------------- repeat

D--------------------------------

A---2-1-2---2-1-2--2-3-2-1-2-2-2-

gtr1 continues this riff with distortion and guitar2 plays this.

this is tricky. set your pitch effect so what you play is doubled an

octave higher. have it set there at the start of each bar and slowly

release the pedal so when you get to the * you have decended to the

normal pitch

Low * **

A-2-2-1-2-2-2-1-2--2-3-2-1-2-2-2- repeat however many times

another verse and then a drawn out chorus. then the outro which is a

bunch of decending pick scrapes on the high D string. figure it out

yourself i couldn't cause my gtr only has 22 frets and the tab book

transcribed the song in a jacked up tuning.

Porno Creep: korns pretty much instrumental song. would take me

forever to tab out (i look at the tab book, which by the way, as far

as i can tell is right with this song and all i see is this blur of

14's and 12's and 15's and x's on the highest 4 strings.) it really

would take me about a day to tab out. just get the tab book if you

really wanna play it (its not THAT good of a song. creative though)

Good God: my favorite korn song of all time. and of course im mad

because no one gets this song right. The chorus is never tabed right

and the intro/prechorus is NOT TWO GTR PARTS. both guitars are playing

the same thing. yes its hard, but its ridiculously fun to play once

you get used to going from one end of the neck to the other in about

1/2 a second. you need just good old heavy distortion for this crazy

song. and some fast reflexes.

the infamous Intro:

this can take hours of practice to get right, at least if you are trying

to play along w/ the song get away from that firstfret after you hit

it as fast as you can... and despite what other tabs say the low

notes are not power chords. if they were then you WOULD need

two guitars to play it. see how one screw up leads to another?

Verse: The verse of this song is not much easier than the intro.

you dont have to go all the way to the 20th fret, but to the 15th.

but you do have to use powerchords on the heavy parts. there is a rest

between the high and low parts but you will still need to play this as

fast as you can. also, the tab book says to use harmonics, and i hate

to say it but its right. however although you move around less with

the harmonics it is extremely difficult to finger them and play them

and get them to sound right in the short amount of time you have. so

i play the notes up on the high strings instead. its more moving

around and you dont get the discordancy you do with the harmonics but

beggars cant be choosers, and not all of us here are munky or head.

now so the interlude is a break for the guitars, just listen to the

bass and drums and jon's whispering-turned-screaming and wait for the

next riff, which, to your relief, is easy:

Bridge: on deadened notes, keep the pressure light so that some of the

notes and random harmonics sound:

Mr. Rogers: Underrated song even by the band themselves, who claim its

a horrible song for a live show. Granted its a little weird but the

heavier parts of the song are very fun.

Warning: This is the first song where I'm not sure about the effects.

Tab books are horrible about telling you what effects the band is

using if they tell you at all (Korn is known for their love of guitar

effects and in the untouchables tab book there is no indication of any

effects used) Especially in this tab book they talk about some effects

I've never heard of. You need a Leslie effect whatever that is. I've

never seen or had one, so all i can do is tell you the good substitute

You need distortion obviously and if you don't have this Leslie thing

then you need some wah, chorus, and flanger.

Intro: Gtr1 only

repeat that exact thing twice. then both guitars play this:

(this is mind blowingly heavy, its not power chords, way to heavy for

that, and these are A#s they're just played with break-your-string

force and more distortion than um... i dunno. Just play this song with

some new strings.

The first part repeats once, then the heavy part, then the first part,

then the heavy part but the note is only played twice.

Prechorus: controversial riff here. The tab book insists its only one

guitar part but i beg to differ. They are both playing the same notes,

but the way i hear it guitar 2 is using a chorus effect on the chords,

and may also be scraping the strings a little rather than picking them

* Chorus on, + Chorus off (guitar 2 only)

F-4-------------------------------------------------------

Chorus: Fun riff for both guitars but guitar 2 needs that silly Leslie

thingy. So if you don't have that like me, use wah (keep pedal toe up)

along with a chorus pedal and do some tremolo picking. If you want to

spice things up a little you can wah-wah a little on the higher parts.

An alternate way in which you don't need to tremolo pick is the wah

with a very fast flanger (phaser might also work.) If you have a

vibrato bar you could ride that thing the whole time with tremolo

picking and not have to use any effects. Or you can just wiggle your

fingers a whole lot like me. Those are the best substitutes to this

Leslie thing, so use whichever you like the sound of the most.

Gtr1: lucky, heavy riffin rhythm guitarists get a fun simple

effect-less riff:

K@#0%! (kunt)

As a testament to the horrible mistakes tab books make, get this:

For those of you who have heard this song, the tab book says exactly

this: "Ad lib. lyrics throughout Verse" And then earlier with twist

the book actually had tried to transcribe Jon's scat, poorly at that.

That should just about say it all.

Intro: guitar 1

G-11/10-9-9-8-8--8-10/9-8-8-

D-10/9--8-8-7-7--7--9/8-7-7-

A-3/2-1-1-0-0-0-2/1-0-0-

Verse-not me the tab book or anyone else knows just how to play this

riff. The tab book looks right but the harmonics are very hard to find

and hit accurately enough for them to sound right. Plus you need a

very specific effect, i read somewhere on some korn website that munky

(who uses the jacked up effect) used some sort of crazy rare wah pedal

for this riff that he never used. I'm not sure what head plays, the

tab book only gives one guitar part where their are two. I think head

just plays with distortion. I happened to get lucky and found a

setting on my digitech stereo flanger pedal that sounds just about

identical to whatever munky is using here. i forgot what setting it is

but if you have this pedal (you cant miss it if you want to go get it:

it says digitech stereo flanger, has four knobs, and its violet

purple) the setting i found gives your higher notes a highly

discordant scream/droning sound to them and when you hit low notes it

sounds like your guitar is saying "OW!" so basically look for an

effect that makes your guitar sound like it is in pain and you're good

to go :D
