Porno Creep: korns pretty much instrumental song. would take me forever to tab out (i look at the tab book, which by the way, as far as i can tell is right with this song and all i see is this blur of 14's and 12's and 15's and x's on the highest 4 strings.) it really would take me about a day to tab out. just get the tab book if you really wanna play it (its not THAT good of a song. creative though) Good God: my favorite korn song of all time. and of course im mad because no one gets this song right. The chorus is never tabed right and the intro/prechorus is NOT TWO GTR PARTS. both guitars are playing the same thing. yes its hard, but its ridiculously fun to play once you get used to going from one end of the neck to the other in about 1/2 a second. you need just good old heavy distortion for this crazy song. and some fast reflexes. the infamous Intro: this can take hours of practice to get right, at least if you are trying to play along w/ the song get away from that firstfret after you hit it as fast as you can... and despite what other tabs say the low notes are not power chords. if they were then you WOULD need two guitars to play it. see how one screw up leads to another? Mr. Rogers: Underrated song even by the band themselves, who claim its a horrible song for a live show. Granted its a little weird but the heavier parts of the song are very fun. Warning: This is the first song where I'm not sure about the effects. Tab books are horrible about telling you what effects the band is using if they tell you at all (Korn is known for their love of guitar effects and in the untouchables tab book there is no indication of any effects used) Especially in this tab book they talk about some effects I've never heard of. You need a Leslie effect whatever that is. I've never seen or had one, so all i can do is tell you the good substitute You need distortion obviously and if you don't have this Leslie thing then you need some wah, chorus, and flanger. Intro: Gtr1 only P.M. Just play this song with some new strings. The first part repeats once, then the heavy part, then the first part, then the heavy part but the note is only played twice. Prechorus: controversial riff here. The tab book insists its only one guitar part but i beg to differ. They are both playing the same notes, but the way i hear it guitar 2 is using a chorus effect on the chords, and may also be scraping the strings a little rather than picking them * Chorus on, + Chorus off (guitar 2 only) * + C--------14/13----------------------- G---------x------15/14-------7/8-8-8- D--------12/11----x----------x---x-x- A-0--0-0-------0-13/12-0-0-0-5/6-6-6- Little Fill thingy after the first Prechorus and Second Chorus: sustain this first chord by scraping the string when it starts to die out, and scrape all the 11's F-------------11-11-11--11-11-11----11-11-11-11-11-11-11///- C----------------------------------------------------------- G-9--------------------------------------------------------- D-8--------------------------------------------------------- ///-"tremolo scraping" :D add a flanger on gtr 2 when you get to that part Verse Gtr 1 (P.M. throughout) Low D-7-7-7-7---7-7-7-7--------------------------------------- A---------------------7-7-7-7-6-6-6-6---0-0-6-6---6-6-0-0- repeat both of these however many times. Gtr 2 A-------------------------7-----6-----------------6-6p0-0- F-4------------------------------------------------------- Chorus: Fun riff for both guitars but guitar 2 needs that silly Leslie thingy. So if you don't have that like me, use wah (keep pedal toe up) along with a chorus pedal and do some tremolo picking. If you want to spice things up a little you can wah-wah a little on the higher parts. An alternate way in which you don't need to tremolo pick is the wah with a very fast flanger (phaser might also work.) If you have a vibrato bar you could ride that thing the whole time with tremolo picking and not have to use any effects. Or you can just wiggle your fingers a whole lot like me. Those are the best substitutes to this Leslie thing, so use whichever you like the sound of the most. Gtr1: lucky, heavy riffin rhythm guitarists get a fun simple effect-less riff: (on the high chords don't let them ring but for a split second) A------------------------------------0--------0---------- F------------------------------------0--------0---------- C-------------------------------------------------------- G-------------------------------------------------------- D-3----------3----------3------9/8-8---8--8-8---8--8-8-8- A-1p0-0-0--0-1p0-0-0--0-1p0-0--7/6-6---6--6-6---6--6-6-6- Gtr2: w/ dist and whatever effect combo you decided on (tremolo picking throughout if you choose) this note goes for one whole loop of gtr 1's riff D-------------------------------------------------------- A-------------------------------------------------------- F-4------------------------------------------------------ D-12--------------------------17---------------11-------- A------------------------------x------------------------- F-----------------------------14------------------------- Interlude: Gtr1 D--------------------------------------------------7----- A-----------------------7---------6---------------------- F-4------------------------------------------------------ D--------------------------------------------------7----- A----7------------------6----------------------------6--- F-4----------------------------------------------------4- Gtr2 (w/ same effects as in the chorus D------------------------------16--------16----- A--------------------16------------------------- F--------------------------------------------16- C----------------------------------------------- G----------------------------------------------- D-16-16-16-16--16-16------16-------16----------- D------------------------------16--------16----- A--------------------16------------------------- F--------------------------------------------16- C----------------------------------------------- G----------------------------------------------- D-----------------16------16-------16----------- Bridge G-----------------x-x-3- D-2-2---2--2-2--2-x-x-1- A-0-0---0--0-0--0-x-x--- Outro both guitars lay out this riff as heavy as you can: Low A-1p0-0-0-0-0-1p0-0-0-0-1p0-0-0-1p0-0-0-0-0-1p0-0-0-0-1p0-0-0- K@#0%! (kunt) As a testament to the horrible mistakes tab books make, get this: For those of you who have heard this song, the tab book says exactly this: "Ad lib. lyrics throughout Verse" And then earlier with twist the book actually had tried to transcribe Jon's scat, poorly at that. That should just about say it all. Intro: guitar 1 G-11/10-9-9-8-8--8-10/9-8-8- D-10/9--8-8-7-7--7--9/8-7-7- Chorus (little rests around all the A5 powerchords) G-5/4-3-3-2-2-2-4/3-2-2- D-x-x-x-x-2-2-2-x-x-2-2- A-3/2-1-1-0-0-0-2/1-0-0- Verse-not me the tab book or anyone else knows just how to play this riff. The tab book looks right but the harmonics are very hard to find and hit accurately enough for them to sound right. Plus you need a very specific effect, i read somewhere on some korn website that munky (who uses the jacked up effect) used some sort of crazy rare wah pedal for this riff that he never used. I'm not sure what head plays, the tab book only gives one guitar part where their are two. I think head just plays with distortion. I happened to get lucky and found a setting on my digitech stereo flanger pedal that sounds just about identical to whatever munky is using here. i forgot what setting it is but if you have this pedal (you cant miss it if you want to go get it: it says digitech stereo flanger, has four knobs, and its violet purple) the setting i found gives your higher notes a highly discordant scream/droning sound to them and when you hit low notes it sounds like your guitar is saying "OW!" so basically look for an effect that makes your guitar sound like it is in pain and you're good to go :D Munky plays this ~~~=effect holds out harmonic P.M. low notes harm harm D------3~~~---------3----- A------------------------- F------------------------- C------------------------- G------------------------- D------------------------- A-0-0--------0-0--0----3-1--these two notes replace the first two open notes in each consecutive bar in both gtr parts Heads part is similar just without the effect.
